Hi all you Red Hat Ladies!
Do I think a Red Hat Lady needs an eReader to be successful? Well, actually yes, but maybe what I think isn’t the issue here.
Do I think they need it to be happy? Again, issue. But since I’m answering my own questions, I will say well, duh, I sure think it helps.
I’m not nearly as impatient as I used to be when we go places and I’m able to get more work done. Especially since I can make notes right on the page I’m reading. (I download a lot of .pdf s that are work related.)
My reader is a Sony reader, it cost about $250 (including the book cover) and I love it. Now, when I’m waiting for my husband as he shops in Menards, Home Depot, Fleet Farm, etc., I just flip open the cover, click on the book I want to read and start reading, making notes right there on the Sony as I go along. I always have a smile on my face when he comes back — albeit a distracted one that I flash at him before going back to my reader.
One of the many things I like about my Sony reader is that you can’t just buy a book right there on the Sony. (You have to go to your computer and hook up your reader, then go to the Sony bookstore.) You can on the Kindle wherever you are without a computer hook up, and it’s called impulse buying. I have enough opportunities to impulse buy, I don’t want one more.
You don’t even have to go on line to buy the books! You can sit right in your chair and in a matter of minutes you can be reading a newly purchased book.
Well, now look what I’ve done. I’ve almost convinced myself it’s a good thing. I want to buy a book when I want the book. I want to read it and I want to read it now. My husband knows this and he’s the reason I have the Sony. (Actually, I can’t say that. The price difference was tipping the scales for a Kindle.)
So anyway, ladies. This is my take on Readers. Let me know yours? If you’ve got a Kindle or a Nook or whatever, we can still be friends.

Hi,
I am having trouble finding the time to really nurture this blog. I love the Red Hat Ladies, but I’m sure someone else can work this better than me. Maybe a group of you would like to own “A Red Hat Lady”? If anyone is interested, I will sell it for $400 or best offer. I don’t know how long I’ll be in this mood, so if you want it you’d better grab it now. I’ve got some stuff in the works that I am thinking about doing, but with the holidays I think I can be convinced to put it aside. What do you think? Is it worth YOUR time to run a web site with all the neat ladies out there?

Do Red Hat Ladies have monthly or bi-monthly meetings? (We have 2 people a month plan something. Usually one takes an afternoon meeting for that month and the other an evening meeting so everyone has an opportunity to attend.)
Do you have one queen forever or do you take turns? (We have one queen forever and she is doing great.)
Do you go out of town or stay in town? (We do both)
Do you have a secretary? (We have a lady who is in charge of making a photo album with pictures of each meeting.)
Do you have some great ideas for meetings you would like to share?
Do you have some great ideas for crafts?
Thanks for participating. (Click Read More and it will take you to another page to leave a comment.)
I look forward to hearing from you.

My name is Jan Tincher and I am a Foxy Lady! (I love saying that.) We, The Foxy Ladies, are a group of Red Hat Ladies from the Red Had Society. I have had the website “A Red Hat Lady” for a few years, but I have now decided to make it a blog. This blog will be taking the place of the original site, and mainly be showing pictures of our group, so thank you for your patience as it proceeds. Thank you to all you Red Hat Ladies!
